With Youth unemployment at 719,00*  and  one in five 16-24 year olds out of work, we recognise how it is more important than ever to give your students a head start when they enter the job market.

To achieve this they require Employability Skills and that 'MUST' - 'Experience'!

We can help.

We can organise bespoke Work Experience Placements for Year 11 students, 1 day a week, in a career area of choice. 

The placement can last from a term up to a year.

Which students will benefit?

YOU will be able to identify the students who will benefit most.

They may be studying a vocational course for e.g. Leisure and Tourism, Health, Hair & Beauty, etc. and need that coveted 'Experience' in the industry to progress further after school.

They may want to take up an Apprenticeship when they finish school and significant Work Experience in that sector is imperative.

Or, they may be a student who is not fully achieving academically and the 'world of work', not school, is where their interests lie.  A placement with an employer will be a huge advantage and develop their skills and improve their job prospects. 

It is essential that the student is keen and committed to go on placement and will demonstrate good attendance and punctuality.

How does it work?

After an initial discussion with us please:

•  complete an online application form (opposite) for each student and send it to us electronically. (You will need to register on our website to access the form, this is a simple process)

          We will then:

• meet you and the young person to discuss the student’s interests and aspirations
• require parental consent and a declaration confirming the student's medical status
• source a suitable employer 
• conduct a full Health & Safety assessment at the employer's premises and  Employer CRB check
• undertake the regular Health and Safety re-visits as required throughout the period

We have the flexibility to find a placement for a Year 11 student at any time.  We request between 8 & 10 weeks notice from school.

We will organise the placement in entirety but it is School’s responsibility to monitor the student’s learning progress throughout the placement.

Students can complete an OCR Employability Skills Qualification equivalent to one G.C.S.E.
