Welcome to Learn 2 Work (L2W)
About the Programme
For some students at Key Stage 4 The National Curriculum does not meet all their needs, abilities or aspirations. As a result, an increasing number are at risk of "dropping out" of the education system.
How can we address this?
L2W is a City-wide project which enables young people aged 14-16 years to:
- Learn new skills
- Reach their potential
- Achieve success
- Gain experience in vocational learning environments.
Liverpool Compact EBP works in partnership with
- Liverpool Community College
- Liverpool Education Authority
- Work-based Learning Providers
- Local Employers to place students
How does it work?
Students spend some time each week out of school (one or two days) working towards a recognised vocational qualification and the remainder in school following National Curriculum subjects.
They are supported by school staff whilst they are off-site.
Benefits to young people
- Develops career ideas
- Enhances knowledge and skills
- Motivates students
- Builds confidence
