News: Under the Spotlight!
Inspiring Young Minds... 40 Year 5 pupils from Banks Road Primary School, Garston put British Transport Police under the spotlight as they questioned them about their work. The children were taking part in a Careers Carousel at school, organised by Liverpool Compact EBP's Primary Team. Local businesses attended and staff answered the children's questions about their company and their job. Along with British Transport Police, they included Alder Hey Children's Trust, Eli Lilly & Company Ltd, Independent Case Examiner's Office, John Lewis, Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Move Publishing Ltd, QVC, Seaking Electrical Ltd, Servicemaster and Tate Liverpool. A real cross section of businesses! The children buzzed with enthusiasm and motivation. " There are more jobs than i ever imagined." " I'll have to work much harder to get the job I want." " I have to believe in myself." were the comments. Teacher, Richard Davies said "The representatives from the companies engaged wonderfully with the children. They gained so much from the event and it has opened their eyes to diversifying their ambitions." Another step towards 'inspiring young minds...'
