Building confidence…………….
Drama workshops
Our Drama consultant, Clare Molyneux has worked in 15 mainstream
and special schools during the last year helping Year 10 & 11
students who may be de-motivated, disaffected or simply lacking confidence,
to improve their self-esteem, manage anger, learn new skills and
become productive team members through drama activities.
Can we help YOUR students?
How do they work?
The project is open to a maximum of 5 schools each term. Due to
its popularity, priority will be given to those schools who
have not
worked with us before.
The project is termly lasting between 13-15 weeks. Clare can
offer schools 1 hour a week of her time. Her workshops can
accommodate between 5 and 30 students. All she needs is a
large classroom!
The drama programme comprises of:
- Voice Projection
- Mental warm ups
- Physical warm ups
- Spontaneous improvisation
- Polished improvisation
- Improvising from a stimulus
- Cooling down (relaxation) games
- Story telling
- Role-play
Self-motivation and motivating others is important in the
workplace and can be learnt though our vocal, physical
and mental warm
ups. The students have fun
whilst learning new skills. Role-play gives the students a chance
to explore themselves, their own feelings and the feelings
of others. They will learn
how to channel their anger in positive ways and develop
coping strategies for difficult
situations.
Other topics can include writing and directing plays and theatre
visits.
On completion of the course students receive gold, silver or bronze
attainment certificates.
