In today's tough labour market school leavers need good presentation and communication skills to help them get a job.

We can arrange for a local employer to come into school and hold ‘Employability Interviews’ with YOUR students. This will prepare them for a successful real life interview, help develop their skills and give them a clear understanding of the recruitment process.

How do they work?

Training Session:

In preparation for the Employability Interview Liverpool Compact EBP can come into school and hold an 'Interview Preparation Session' with YOUR students during a PSHE or Careers lesson. The session will highlight to the students the importance of making a good impression and what employers are looking for from a candidate.

We will agree convenient dates with you. We then invite a number of employers to conduct Employability Interviews at your school. Prior to the interviews we will provide you with standard application forms for each student to complete or as more employers are now requesting on line applications you may prefer for them to complete one on line. One is available on this page by clicking on the ‘on line application forms’ button.

An employer then comes to school and will hold a half-hour interview with each student. The interview is usually based around the contents of the application form.

After the interview the employer will offer feedback on the student's performance to give them an understanding of their strengths and weaknesses in the areas of communication, general demeanour, academic achievements etc.

Benefits to young people

  • Increases self-awareness and confidence
  • Develops an understanding of the recruitment process
  • Improves self-presentation and communication skills

"I have been both surprised and delighted by the effect it has had on students. It has given a noticeable boost to their self-confidence and to their determination to succeed in life."
