Visits to Industry
Watch, listen, learn…
A visit to industry will fascinate and inform your students and it frequently forms part of the G.C.S.E. or Diploma courses you may be teaching.
How does it work?
You decide on the type of industry that you'd like to visit and advise us of student numbers. We find a willing employer, check Health and Safety procedures are in place and supply you with confirmation.
Teaching staff must always accompany students on the visit.
The structure of the visit will be shaped by the students’ learning objectives. For example, if you teach Business Studies your students may find it useful to visit a company and look at Finance, dealing with customers, Marketing or the use of I.C.T.
By talking to key personnel and observing a day in the life of a company, students acquire an understanding of how business/industry operates.
Benefits to young people
- Raises economic and industrial awareness
- Links school to the ‘world of work’
- Informs students of career opportunities
After this visit I have realised now that I would like to become a Graphic Designer
